SDL Engineering UAB is engaged in design and manufacturing of contour punching, bending, forming, deep drawing and progressive stamping equipment, as well as welding conductors, measuring and testing equipment, prototypes of parts for the manufacture of metal forming equipment, metal stamping and manufacture of metal products. To expand the company's activities, a decision was made to purchase the latest model of more environmentally-friendly stamping machines. The company applied for EU funding because investing in new machines is relatively costly. After assessing the benefits of the project, funding was provided by the European Regional Development Fund under the call for proposals for Measure No. 03.3.2-LVPA-K-837 “Eco-Innovation LT+” of Priority Axis 3 Enhancing the Competitiveness of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises of the Operational Programme for the European Union Funds' Investments in 2014-2020.
Once implemented, the technological eco-innovations would allow to increase workforce productivity, and to ensure a safer, greener, more comfortable and neat work environment. The project aims to reduce the consumption of resources and to invest in the modernization of technological processes, which would allow to increase sales and to ensure the development of export markets. The introduction of new technologies would significantly reduce energy costs and the level of harmful substances used in the process.
